The Panaromic Mount Batur - Bali, Indonesia

Captured this view on our way to Terunyan Village
Mount Batur eruptions and the flow of the lava
Mount Batur is beautiful and simply breath taking from any angle but unfortunately on the day we were there, it was a bit cloudy.  We had a good view of Mount Batur while riding the boat to Terunyan Village. If you have time, hiking up to the summit of the central crater is interesting and best done before dawn, to get the best view of sunrise.

The first eruption of this volcanic mountain was recorded in 1804 and the 1917 eruption destroyed more than 60,000 homes and 2,000 temples. Lake Batur is the largest crater lake in Bali. On the other side of Lake Batur is another volcanic mountain, Mount Agung. According to Eduardo, when Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta erupted, some sparks of lights were visible from the crater of Mount Batur.

After spending a few hours around Lake Batur we moved on to Kintamani where the mountain is clearly visible from there.
